The Power Of Positive BELIEFS!

It's a matter, of, mind, over matter. If you don't have a mind, it doesn't matter! This sage understanding/ statement, usually, credited, to, Groucho Marx, addresses the relationship, between, our mind, and abilities. When combined with a statement, attributed to Henry Ford, You can think you can, or can't. Either way, you'll be correct, we become capable of focusing on, the power of positive BELIEFS! After, over four decades, of articulating, and presenting, personal development seminars/programs, I firmly believe, what we think about ourself, often, is directly, related to personal success, fulfillment, happiness, and well - being! With, that in mind, this article will attempt to, briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this means and represents, and why it matters.

1. Benefits; better/ best; bring it: Doesn't it make sense, to consider personal options and alternatives, on a risk/ reward basis, so you do, what benefits you, most? The task should focus upon, the best way, to become, personally, stronger, better, happier, and put your, best - foot - forward! Only then, is it possible, to make quality decisions, and bring your finest efforts, towards achieving your objectives!

2. Empathy; emphasis; efforts: Although, we often, consider, being empathetic, towards others, we rarely, proceed, with the same emphasis, on applying, the concepts of genuine empathy, internally! Will you commit, to proceeding, with your finest efforts?

3. Like/ love; learn; level: Proceeding, in an inconsistent, non - level way, rarely, is personally beneficial! Do you, truly, love yourself, or, even, like yourself? Are you willing to effectively, learn, and discuss, what makes you happiest?

4. Ideas; integrity; imagination; intense; ideals: Are you capable of quality ideas, which, align, with your finest ideals?  Will you commit to proceeding, with the utmost degree of absolute, personal integrity? How, well - developed, is your imagination, and might it, make you, more capable, of thinking - outside - the - box, and expanding the limits of your comfort zone? Will you proceed, with intensity, discipline, commitment, and real endurance?

5. Excellence; endurance; enrich: Will you demand personal excellence, or settle, for, good - enough? Are you willing, to proceed with consistency, and endurance, and doing, what may be needed, to enrich yourself, and your personal experiences, etc?

6. Face facts; fate; fortune; function: Lying, to yourself, is rarely, worthwhile, or beneficial! Are you, able, to face the facts, and, use those, to function, to the best, of your abilities, and maximize, your chances, to enhance your fortune, in all areas of your life?

7. Self; self - help; stronger: What might you do, to maximize, your possibilities, for self - help? Does your personal commitment, to all aspects, of your self, emphasize making you stronger, happier, and more content?

The better you understand, know, and effectively, realize the power of your personal BELIEFS, the better your personal possibilities! Are you ready, willing, and able to become your own, best friend?

5 Keys To Make Self - Help Work!

How can anyone, become, the best, he could possibly be, unless/ until, he, first, did everything, possible, to help, himself? While, we often, hear someone, discuss, self - help, it will only make a quality, change, for the better, when/ if, you, proactively, use a variety of methods, and steps, to achieve the most - desirable, results! After, more than four decades, of involvement, in training people, and giving, personal development seminars, I have come to realize, how important, it is, to take advantage of, these 5 keys, to make self - help, work, effectively. With that in mind, this article will attempt to, briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, some of these, and, how one might, use these effectively.

1. Check - up from the neck - up: Although, it is wise, to do so, very few of us, actually, take the time, and make a concerted effort, to examine ourselves, honestly, and introspectively, or, what I refer to, as, giving yourself, a check - up, from the neck - up! Do this, as you might, evaluate, someone else, in a truly, objective way! What do you like, best, about, you, and what, are you, less - than - pleased, with/ about? Be thorough, and, brutally, honest, for your own, best - interests!

2. Short - term, interim, longer - term: What do you seek, in the short - term/ immediate, interim, and longer - term? How will you reach, these objectives? What should you do, to ensure this, and will you be ready, willing, and able to proceed, with the combination of discipline, and commitment? Will you maintain the endurance, and emphasis, needed, to get, where you hope, to be?

3. Your personal discipline/ How important are your goals, and aspirations?: Are your goals, truly, yours, and how motivating, and personally, inspiring, are they, to you? Will you proceed, and maintain, the necessary degree, of personal discipline, to reach these? Will you maintain the discipline, despite potential obstacles? Will you consider obstacles, to be, challenges to overcome, or problems?

4. Using personal affirmations: Creating, and using an Affirmation List, correctly, and regularly/ consistently, is often, a very effective way, to maintain a productive, positive, can - do, attitude, and take the steps, regularly, to proceed, with the best plan, approach, strategy, and actions, which might work, for you. Limit this list, to ten items, word them in positive (proactive) terms, commit to reading/ reviewing, and caring about them, several times, per day, and, your chances of achieving, are usually, exponentially, improved!

5. Do you, truly, want to make yourself, better?: Do you, really, want to be better, and will you commit, to taking, the steps, needed, to achieve your personal objectives? Don't try to become a clone, of someone, else, but, rather, be the best, you, can become!

Self - help only helps, and works, if you really, want it to! Don't take short - cuts, but maintain the endurance, and persist, and you'll be, on your path, to where you hope, to be!

The Power of Setting Goals - Be S.M.A.R.T

One of the most common complaints that many people have in regard to goal setting is that they are just too busy to find time to set goals. We become too consumed by our work and then by our responsibilities for our family that we get little time for personal enrichment of any kind. All these are valid points but if you are going to live a prosperous life you have to learn how to use situations that you consider to be obstacles as motivation and not as excuses. As a family, we have our individual goals, we have our family goals and our business goals. And they are posted within our home so we can keep track.

At first, it was a little uncomfortable sharing our individual goals with each other. I think it had more to do with fear of not accomplishing the goal because now others are aware of your goals and they can hold you accountable. There is joy when you come together as a family and set goals and it is even more gratifying when you accomplish those goals. If your goal is not important to you or if it is not something you deeply want, you probably will not achieve it. On the other hand, if your goal means everything to you, there is no excuse on earth that can stop you from accomplishing your goals. Goal setting should be fun, exciting and S.M.A.R.T.

Specific

Most people have goals to get promoted, earn more money, improve relationships and the like, but these are very vague goals. To be specific, you need to include the full details of your goals. Write down something like, "I will be promoted to President of my company by (date)" "I will run a 5k in an hour" or "I will grow my relationship with my spouse by going on a date every week." Include the names, the position, the amount, the date and everything else needed to train your mind to start working toward that goal.

Measurable

Goals need to be measurable so that you can keep track of how well you are doing. For your business or job, you can include specifics such as the number of hours you are working, the amount you are earning, the staff you are managing, etc. For the goal of attaining more money, you can include details such as the amount you want to earn, save or the number of assets and investments you want to attain. Always have important points and items to be measured so you can understand how close you are to achieving your goals.

Attainable vs Realistic

It is OK to set goals that would stretch you outside of your comfort zone. Make sure you set objectives that you can reach within a given amount of time, provided the current resources and capabilities you have. Some goals can be achieved faster compared to others if you have the right tools and strategies already in place. Always include a strategic plan for big objectives.

Time-Bound

Set "lifelines" to achieve your goals. We don't like the word deadline, we prefer "lifeline". Stay specific when setting timelines and schedules. For example, indicate things like "To spend at least 1 uninterrupted hour talking positively with my spouse every day starting tomorrow (indicate exact date)". Setting the exact time and date will spur you to start working on your goals, instead of putting it off for another day and procrastinating. Some goals can take years to accomplish so it is wiser to break these down into smaller objectives complete with lifelines.

Put these strategies to work and watch you accomplish your goals with ease. You are worthy of achieving your goals so always remember to be S.M.A.R.T while getting them done.
