Forget The Mistake Remember The Lesson

Forget the mistakes, remember the lessons. In other words, don't obsess about the stupid thing you did, but rather how you came to make that stupid mistake in the first place. Whatever the underlying factors that cause those mistakes, consider them to be the lessons to avoid making the same mistakes again.

A lot of people are driven by fear of mistakes which results to blame-games, inertia and resistance to change. It is said that the more mistakes a man makes, the more new things he/she will try. Learning from a mistake enables a man to make innovations which are products of trial and error.

In fact, it is wrong to punish honest mistakes especially in the pursuit for personal development. Wisdom and personal growth comes from the times when we committed mistakes and learnt from them. As a matter of fact, our wisdom and personal growth are developed not during our success but during the failures that we experienced in life.

We don't typically know the actions we made are a mistake until those actions are completed. The outcome of those actions made us realize we have made a mistake. Consequences of past mistakes often make us afraid of stepping out our comfort zone and try again. Dwelling our past mistakes can paralyze us.

Remember, nothing in life is worthwhile unless we take risks. When we think and live outside our comfort zone, we grow! Failure is inevitable but trying is important. The chances we take may seem trivial in the short run. Stop behaving like the world is against us.

Far too many of us live by the choices we made in the past. This shouldn't be the case. After all, each new day presents an opportunity to become a new person. But there are valuable lessons to be learned from it. Consider the lessons we can learn from our past.

We all have weaknesses that when left unaddressed limit our potential for impact and significance. A lot of people have inspired us to become better versions of ourselves. But we all learn differently. Understanding our deepest drive is tough. It requires patience, and consistent self-assessment. But the more we discover why we do the things we do, the easier it is for us to make the most of the present.

We all face different circumstances. We are given the perfect opportunity to start over again. Despite our best efforts, things don't work out for us. So, we need to learn from our mistakes because there are lessons in our failures, and use what we've learned to improve our odds of success in the future.

Most of us have painful mistakes that are worst to forget. But we need to accept what is done and focus on what can be done.

The Key to True Meaning of Success

In life many people believe that success is based on external things like cars, houses, money, and other things that are external but the truth is success is not about anything outside of ones self. Success should be based on ones contribution and impact in and on the Earth. Many of us have believed the hype for so long that we have to show people the things that we do and have in order to receive their approval or validation.

In reality, none of that is needed because who can judge, approve or validate what is within you? Who can tell you if you got it right or not? Who can jump inside of your true vision or dream and say "Yep that's it you did it the exact way it was shown in your vision or dream"? I often tell my clients the one thing no one can high jack is your dreams and visions.

Your dreams and visions are what give you the road map and path to what can be determined as success. Only you can see what is within your visions and dreams so in order to know if you are successful or not you have to ask yourself "Did I birth out what I saw in my dreams and visions?" Many of us have vivid dreams and visions but we are so afraid of trying to begin the journey of birthing because of what could go wrong.

I challenge you to begin the process now because either you are going to live with pain or regret of not doing it or the pain of doing it now. No matter what there will be pain but not all pain is bad. Do you remember the saying "No Pain No Gain?" This is indeed true when we experience pain there is a memory now that is there to remind you of what you made it through and it makes you stronger.

When you go to the gym and work out there is a level of discomfort/pain that is necessary in order for you to know that you worked the muscle group that you had in mind. Sometimes you are sore for a day or two afterwards but you continue to go back to the gym to eventually see the results you had envisioned. So if this is true for the gym and working your physical muscle wouldn't you think it applies to every area?

The answer is yes in order to reach the level of success that you were sent here to make you have to continue to go back to the mental and spiritual gym to see the vision board to determine if you are exercising the right muscle groups to see the results of the vision. It doesn't matter if other people can see the results if you can't because they have no idea what the vision board looks like.

I say this to my students all the time, It doesn't matter what other people say about you but what you say about yourself." Many people look at this saying and associate it with something negative but it applies to the positive words also because you have to learn to affirm yourself and ensure that you are saying the things that you need to hear to yourself.

I challenge you to stop thinking about what could go wrong and think about what could go right if you birth out that vision and dream. When you focus your attention and energy on the vision and dream a flow of frequency and intensity will be there to pull and push you through. I believe when the vision and mission is strong it will pull you and when the attention and passion is there it will push you towards to success.

When this is understood your true success will be awaiting and the level of happiness, joy and peace that we all envision will be there also. There is no need to live beneath your potential and there is no need to live a life where you never get an opportunity to experience the true meaning of success and happiness. This is your birth right so embrace it.

You lack nothing at all! You can to this world to do something great that only you can do. Success was and is built inside of you so dig deep within yourself and pull that greatness out because it is yours.

Instructions for Living Life the Easy Way

It is said that we humans are so linear that we always need someone to give us steps or instructions before we move into action.

Well, that's right.

We ARE human and we DO need step-by-step instructions to help us learn new things. Otherwise we flounder around wasting time and energy, making needless mistakes.

Those who have gone before, walking on the leading edge of life, have learned the hard way. They've made all the mistakes for you. Many of them have become mentors, coaches, and teachers. What they share is what they know... what they've learned the hard way. You can also do what they've done, only easier, faster, and more simply. All you have to do is heed the knowledge that they have to share.

For you disbelievers, go ahead and do it your way. After you've run into dead ends, circled back again to start over only to run into complicated detours and potholes the size of school buses, maybe eventually you'll arrive at your goal. When you do, you'll find others waiting for you. Those would be the people who used the knowledge and followed the instructions from the ones who have gone before them.

Or maybe not. These smartie-pants who heeded the wisdom shared by others who went before them may have gotten tired of waiting for you. In their excitement to move on to the next level of this Game we all chose to play here on Planet Earth, they're very much excited to keep progressing. Especially when it's so easy. They've learned that all they have to do is borrow the knowledge and wisdom of those who have pioneered the way for them to speed them on their journey.

Being one of those who chose to walk the leading edge and be in the forefront of this magical, mystical movement we call "Human Evolution", I've learned how valuable it is to others that I leave instructions behind on my path. It keeps those who are following me from making ALL the mistakes that I and others like me have made.

Of course, making mistakes is part of learning. But there's no reason why you have to make every single mistake that's possible to make. Just a few will do nicely to help you remember the learning.

Here's the #1 rule for simple, fast, and easy learning: Read the instructions.

Before you make one move, read the instructions. All of them. And before you step into action, re-read the first step in the instructions. When you've complete that step, read the next one before moving into action on it. Repeat until you're complete with the process.

For those of you who are with me on the leading edge, before you jump into yet another brand new experience, take a few moments to create instructions for those who are following in your footsteps. Let them know which footsteps will assist them to gain the greatest value in their new knowledge. Warn them about those steps you found that slowed you down, blocked your progress, or even forced you to turn around and find another path.

Make it as simple as possible for those behind you to quickly catch up with your progress. Be linear and create simple, numbered instructions. In this way others whom you've helped catch up to you will find it easier to help those who are following them... much like you did.

Here's one of my favorite methods for living life the easy way. It'll help you make challenging life choices simple and effortless. It's been gleaned from my years of experiences and tons of mistakes:

1. Make a list of every option you can think of. Even those that may not seem very attractive. Leave a few lines of space between each item.

2. When you're complete with your list, close your eyes and envision yourself doing the first option.

3. Notice how you feel. Remember, feelings are physical sensations we call "emotions". Anything else is a thought. Inserting "I feel like" in front of a thought does not make it an emotion. Pay particular attention to what you're feeling in the areas of your stomach chest, shoulders, and neck. If you're adept at sensing energy, notice how your energy shifts - or not - during this visual.

4. In the space you left below that option, note what you felt.

5. Repeat #2 through #4.

When you're done with this exercise, you'll know without a doubt which option is the best one for you to choose.

The reason this works so well is that it avoids using your mind. Your mind will lie to you and keep your head whirling with "maybes" and "what ifs". Your body knows the truth and willingly shares it with you. All you have to do is ask your body a question and then recognize the answer.

This little method has worked amazingly well for me as well as everyone I've shared it with. Try it the next time you're in a quandary and don't know which direction to take.

How To Use The Pomodoro Technique And Why You Need It!

Next week I've allotted 9 days to write a course. I've been wanting to write this course for 5 years or more. I have done all my research, now I just need to write it.

Parkinson's Law

Parkinson's law states that you will fill whatever allotted time you set to complete a task.

Think about that.

If you set a month to do a task, you'll do it in a month, even procrastinating until the last few days, because you know you have so much time.

You add padding time so you don't feel under pressure.

I heard myself saying, I can't get my course written in 9 days, because if I could do that then what does that say about all the years I've procrastinated? So I had better string it out to make it look like it was a labour of love.

As if it had more value if it took me longer.

One suggestion is to think about what time you think you could do a task in, then halve it.

Pomodoro Technique

The pomodoro technique is allotting a time, say 25 mins (this is the traditional pomodoro timer amount of minutes), and just working your butt off to do that task, then when the timer rings you have a break. 3-5 minutes. Write down a 1 on a piece of paper. Then reset the timer. When you get to 4 on your paper, take a longer break, 15-30 minutes.

Or say allotting an hour to clean your house and then stop. So go hard for that hour. Then break.

There are also apps for the pomodoro technique.

Pomodoro is Italian for tomato, which is what the timer looked like of the guy who created this technique.

Objections

I'm aware of all the resistances I have to doing things concentrated and even fast. That if I do it too fast I will miss stuff out.

As if taking your time and dragging it out means you have more time to think of things. But you don't generally, you procrastinate. Or you check Facebook, or get up to eat, or lose track and do other things. Because you think taking your time is easier.

I never used to like having a timer on things as it stressed me out. And I was worried I would get adrenal fatigue from pushing myself.

Too much like a test.

But my life has changed enough for me to want to try this now.

Remember to write things down that come to mind about other things you want to do after your task is completed. Don't do them during the allotted time.

Let me know if you use this technique to get stuff done.
